Patriots offer Contract to Zach Thomas

The Miami Herald reports that the New England Patriots have offered Zach a contract.  You have got to be kidding me! What is going on here? Half of the Patriots team (exaggeration I know) is ex-Dolphins that have been "let go." Can anyone say more than Wes Welker. Remember Junior Seau? Oh, yeah, he "retired." How about Larry Izzo. RB Sammy Morris.

This is going to be tough if he accepts this. Not since Marino have I had a favorite player and now he is going to the enemy!! UUGGGHHH  Say it isn't so!!!

Dolphins Release Zach Thomas...Sad Day

Dear Mr. Thomas (Zach),
     Thank you so much for your years of hard play and dedication.  It was a sad day today when I heard the news that the organization would release you. I felt like I was loosing a friend. I have watched and admired you for the 12 seasons you were on the field. You were an inspiration to those on the team and those in the stands.     When my wife and I got married, the first Christmas present she bought me was this authentic #54 jersey. To this day, it has still been the best present my wife has ever given me and I wear it proudly. I will continue to wear that jersey in honor of you. I have carried my daughter in my arms as she grew up each Sunday while I was wearing that jersey and now that my son is just born, he will grow up knowing your number and they way you played the game. My only regret is that as a life long Dol-fan, I will never get that jersey signed.

Thanks for the memories and sorry you didn't get that ring.You don't need the ring to have honor.

Miami Dolphins Worse Team in NFL

I do believe the dolphins may be the worst team in the NFL. A buddy of mine said we are playing now for the first round draft pick. Here we go again. When is it going to end! It doesn't matter who is the head coach Dave, Nick or even now Cam, we still stink. And now living in Michigan where the Lions are 3 - 1 the humiliation just continues.
Let us wrap up where we are:

Joey Porter - $20 Million guarantee - Bust - Oh yeah, he promised a victory against the Raiders - 35-17 not!

Defense - Ancient - 300 yards rushing given up in one game???

Trent Green - Let's see,hmmm, 7 interceptions in 4 games ... not counting fumbles...bring back Joey H.

Oh yeah... Ninth Pick - Ted Ginn Jr. - Where is he???


life long fan: Yes. Frustrated: Yes. And Yes I speak all of this in Love, but also in pain and agony.
Oh and sorry, but I am dropping the Dolphins D from my fantasy team... the negative points are killing me.

The Miami Dolphins Did not Cheat

Everybody knows I am the biggest NFL Miami Dolphins fan, so I feel the need to speak my voice and defend my brothers when the huddled masses are coming at me like Jason Taylor on the quartback saying, "Dolphins Cheated! Winners never prosper!" Go for the story here at ESPN and even here at the Miami Herald to find out why we did NOT cheat. Besides, one might think they were cheating if not for the fact  the defense IS this good week in and week out!

Harrington in Miami

As a huge Miami Dolphins fan and resident of Michigan, the story of Joey Harrington getting picked up by the Dolphins has intrigued me. Some around here say bad move and others say a change of venue will be good for him.

 

I say give the man a fresh start, and you never know. Look what happened to Steve Young after he left Tampa Bay. Many are aware of the chances Saban takes, but they often work.

Finally some Pepper in Miami

It has been a while faithful friends, and frantic fans, but it looks like we finally got somebody that can take us all the way. No one will EVER fill Dan's shoes, but Dante is the missing piece to the puzzle. There  is certainly more work to be done, but my hat off to Coach Saban for the work he has done so far. Let us all however pray for Dante's knee that he heals well and we see him behind the snapper.  To you Mr. Culpepper: Thank you and God bless. There is a lot riding on you, but we have faith in your ability. This might be the year that we return to greatness. Let us all hope that the dry season is over. Let the flood of victories rush over us all and may we take pride again in our theme song where is says, "...And when we say Miami we're talking Superbowl!" Look out Eastern Division, Look out AFC and look out NFL, here come the DOLPHINS!

Dolphins Make Me Cry

I quote this line from a Hootie and the Blowfish song very appropriately.  It is at this point that I certainly would agree with this sentiment. And it is nearly quite true. The loss yesterday has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth, a sore feeling in the pit of my stomach, and an ache in the middle of my heart. It hurts to see a second week go by when we could have won the game and came up short. Ironically, that Hootie and the Blowfish video had Dan Marino in it. We still miss you Dan.

One could question the play calls both weeks by going to the quarterback when we have Ronnie. Three tries from the ten and you go with a guy who has as many INT's as TD's? Two timeouts? Just under a minute? We played right into the Pat's hands. Not to mention the fact that we had the lead with under three minutes to go. What happened? Both sides dropped the ball. But the fact is for another week, a week we could and should be sitting atop the East Division, all that is left in the locker room, in the press boxes, in the stadium and in the homes are question marks. To know that you are better than this has got to affect the players. It has to hurt them because us life timers are certainly feeling the pain.

Dolphins Win, Uhh...NOT

Talk about blowing it. Everybody else in the division wins and the Dolphins find themselves with a loss. Not just any loss, but another divisional loss. That makes 2 now. 0-2 in the division. Now I don't know if they are planning on making the playoffs this year or not, but they better straighten things out now. Not only that but this is how we play coming of a bye week where the players are rested, and they have an extra week to plan for Buffalo? I pray that this is not a trend that is going to continue. I thought we left the days behind where we threw more INT's than TD's. Guess I was wrong.

Do I sound a little Jaded? Well I guess that is what 5 turnovers and a franchise record 18 penalties will do to a person. I have to live in the land of the Detroit Lions and in a week where the Lions blew away their opponent, you can only imagine what I have to hear about my boys. (I will say this, that the Ravens looked worse!) Please gentlemen, spare us all the embarrassment another week, PLEASE. Quite frankly I don't understand it. Maybe there are more Wannstedt demons left than I thought. Don't make me come down there and do an exorcism. Let us get it straight before 2007. Maybe we can have the Superbowl right at home. I was hoping for one this year seeing as though Ford field is only 1 hour away.

Hopeful, but not convinced

Nice Going Guys! Pretty impressive. We will hold our reservations for one at least one more week before we get to excited. It is nice however to have a QB who throws more TD's than INT's.  What a blessing. Thank God for small things. Hopefully we will see the running game get going a little better. Look out though, the Jets are going to be ready. Coach Edwards isn't going to let the Jets tank for two in a row. They are going to be fired up!  My blessings go out to the fella's on the front line. Open a few holes and protect that new guy back there and we will be o.k. Looking forward to a good game. Go gettem' fins. We will are behind ya, faithful as always.

New Era for Dolphins

I am taking this moment to step away from more serious topics and begin take my first steps into blogging for the pure purpose of ranting, raving and rejoicing, all over the new, improved (I hope and pray) Miami Dolphins. All you loyal fans out there and all your not so loyal fans out there, I am looking for conversation over the new season. So if you are not serious about the life of the Miami Dolphins, and quite frankly who wouldn't be, you can skip on by this one.

I must begin by ranting at the local programing in the Michigan area that I live. The top CBS game for the 1:00 p.m. time slot is Denver/ Miami and I get stuck watching Tennessee?? What's up with that. OK,OK,OK, Tennessee is closer, but not nearly as good a game. 

Here is my prediction for the season: (8-8). No playoffs though for this year. Yes I am a die-hard and yes I am also a realist. One might say that this is a dream, but I do not think that this is beyond what they can do. I do have faith in the new regime.  Bye, and good riddance Wanstadt, hello Saban. Welcome to the new world, folks. Here come the Dolphins.   Sing the fight song along with me...Cause were the Miami Dolphins, Miami Dolphins, number one... To 54 and 99 - lets get it done boys.
